Published by:

In 2013, I was excited to announce Google+ PR Expert Hangouts as part of the Google+ PR Community. As part of these efforts I threw my hat in the ring to share how I plan and execute on social editorial calendars for Tracky. Here you go!

100+ must have #social tools and platforms for your social business arsenal

Published by:

Whether you’re a professor of communications, a social media consultant or a blogger, this list of resources is for you.  The sheer amount of social tools are overwhelming. I test several new ones out each day. I’ve done the work and put in the time to make it easier for you.

Instead of keeping 20+ browser windows open simultaneously each day, bookmark or archive this list and reference it, daily. Think of it like a new or additional startpage housed in a tab next to your browser of choice.

As I come across exceptional, new tools I’ll add them to the list. This isn’t merely an exhaustive list of tools, they are tried and true tools and platforms I use in my job. Collaboratively these tools represent every aspect of a PR pros work flow. Sure, it would be nice if they all combined into one megasaurus platform that made our jobs a bit easier, but that isn’t an option right now. You’re welcome to embed this list on your site. Simply click the “embed” button at the top of the list. If a list isn’t your thing, I also created Pinterest board for my pin happy friends,  available here (there are a few differences in the lists as some sites were prevented from being aggregated on list.ly or Pinterest).

4 useful social resources for #PR people from @Cision [SPONSORED POST]

    Published by:

For the past two years I’ve had the pleasure of being sponsored by Cision. They’ve supported me by providing time and resources to produce things like #journchat and #Commentz. I’m extremely grateful. Although they are a sponsor, I only write about things I actually use or think others would find interesting. Point being, they are not paying me to spew a bunch of nonsense to you. Glad we’re all on the same page.

    4. Seek or Shout. A new resource from Cision, users can “seek” content, expert sources, research and other support for stories or “shout” to let others know you have a story to tell. It’s like matchmaking for PR people and journalists.  For example, if you’re looking for tech products to review for your blog (hint, hint), this is a perfect place to make the “ask.”

    3. Pinterest for PR Pros [WEBINAR]. Here’s an interesting fact, Pinterest only has 7% of the membership that Twitter does, it actually produces nearly as much referral traffic as the micro-blogging juggernaut. And with 10 million active users and growing, the site is shaping up to be a real contender in the social media space. Cision is hosting a webinar on Thursday, June 14at 1pm CT for a 30-minute crash course in effectively using Pinterest in your marketing and PR campaigns along with how Pinterest can fit into your overall communications strategy.

    2. 12 white papers and case studies. This is an archive of previous studies, white papers and case studies for your reading and researching pleasure. From, ”How social media monitoring assists in planning campaigns” to, “8 ways to take control of your social media brand” there’s lots of knowledge stored here. You need to register to get them delivered to your inbox, free of charge.

    1. Search PR/Marketing and Media Jobs. If you’re on the hunt for that next career move, Cision has a great database of open positions. You can search by the type of position you’re looking for or by location. (You can also post job openings here, too.)
