FAVE SITE: @Pinterest and @Instragram just had a baby. Welcome #Pingram.

What do you get when you marry Instagram and Pinterest? Their gorgeous mashup baby, Pingram.me.

Pingram is a recently launched site by Italian web developer and ex-hacker Gennaro Varriale. It’s a simple way to share Instagram photos with a clean interface, similiar to Pinterest. Pingrammers (pingram.me users) can use  the app to show their Instagram photos on the web and can link their Twitter account to show last tweets. And, of course, you can “pin” photos from Pingram users to your Pinterest profile.

I recently had a chance to sit down with Varriale (over email, so I’ll assume we were both sitting) and find out what inspired this awesome mashup.

He created Pingram  in seven hours and did it to kick off some relaxation time. Silly me, and I thought relaxing involved a good book and a glass of wine. Regardless, his plan for relaxation backfired.  He says he’s now inundated with interviews, messages and collaborative offers sparked by the project. Well played, sir.

What’s next for Pingram? Varriale says he hopes to make a cleaner interface, new features like comments and better Facebook Timeline integration.

Will you use Pingram?
