That’s exactly what reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian is doing to promote his new book, Without Their Permission. Beginning in October 2013 and running through February 2014, the 65-college campus tour tour could reach just shy of 1,000,000 young adults in the U.S.
You never know when this little factoid might come in handy. The ginormous online community that is Reddit, broke their own Guinness World Record with 44,085 participants from 130 countries in their December 2012 secret santa gift exchange. Who knew so many people would be willing to send a gift to someone they don’t know.
“Front page of the Internet” community Reddit has almost 70 million monthly users and 4.6 billion monthly page views. Who is generating all that traffic? According to a survey by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, it’s mostly young men, ages 18 to 29.
Reddit is the one of the main arteries of the internet and keeps the interwebz heart pumping. When they say something, millions listen. Today they promoted the Restore the Fourth (#restorethe4th) nationwide protests on their blog. It is a grassroots movement that began, appropriately, on Reddit and takes place on July 4th.
