Calling all students! The Huffington Post, Techcrunch and others in the AOL family are giving away internships, plus $1,000 to students who get the most online votes. Voting closes at 11:59PM ET on April 22nd, 2012.
If you’re a current college or university student and over the age of 18, you’re eligible for one of five internships within the AOL family. Instead of submitting a boring resume to a hiring manager, these internships are up for grabs in a social setting.
It’s literally as easy as one, two, three to enter:
- Create an about.me page that shows why you’re the best fit for one of the internships.
- Opt-in on your page to enter the contest and allow people to vote for you.
- Share your page with your social networks to encourage voting.
When you create your page, think about what internship you’re going after. Use the page to highlight your “best” self (and to encourage votes). A few things you may want to include:
- Recent photo.
- A statement that describes your work ethic, future goals or gives insight about you.
- Links to the social networks you actively use
- Something that demonstrates why you are a direct fit for “your” internship. Own it!
What internship are you going for?
