After a 20 year winning baseball career, La Salle Peru High School coach Bill Booker was not rehired by the La Salle Peru High School Board of Education. The small town is in an uproar and, in protest, the memes are beginning to fly.

If you’re from a small town (and this happens to be mine), you know how deep the love of athletics goes. It didn’t take long after beloved baseball coach Bill Booker was not rehired due to the board, “going in a new direction” for the backlash to begin. In fact, after Booker wasn’t rehired his current team managed to take second place in the Class 3A state championship game.

From slashed tires of board members (I know, dramatic) to other coaches submitting their resignation letters, now former students are adding their twist with memes. The above photo is the first meme created by a recent graduate and is spreading across Facebook by community members, friends, former players and the like. I came across it from a former player (15 years ago) who now lives in California.

Looks like no one is immune to the thrashing of a good internet meme — even superintendents.
